Victor Hugo vs Nicky Rod

WNO Training and More

So this year is getting started right! After the team competes in the next Grappling Industries tournament this weekend, I will be heading down to Austin run some training for the current open-weight world champion in BJJ Victor Hugo. He will be going against the very talented and ADCC finalist Nicky Rodriquez in WNO (Who’s Number One). This will be a great matchup and it will be great to see Victor working his magic against one of the best guard passers in No-Gi. I am sure it will be amazing training with Victor, Felipe Costa and our newest no-gi world champ Steve Hargett.

The weekend after that bring Xande Ribeiro into Denver to celebrate the grand opening of Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu in Littleton under 6th degree black belt Rodrigo Antunes. Xande is bringing with him mobility expert Cameron Shayne. (Note Coach Hannah started her mobility class Sundays at 2PM here if you want some of that). Plus Steve Hargett will probably be staying longer the following week to get more training in.

The weekend after that I will be headed down to OKC to help Rafael Lovato Jr get ready for his next in an exciting match against another big name opponent.

The final weekend of Feb I will head to Seattle to do a seminar at my good friend and mentor Korbett Miller at Miller’s Martial Arts. He is one of the best kids instructors in the country. Plus my friend and no-gi world champ James Puopolo will be there to finish off the great training.

So ton’s of great training sessions, I am excited to help the top competitors in the art get ready for their upcoming matches. Gives me a lot of reasons to hit the assault bike in prep for these rounds and bring the best Jiu-Jitsu in the world back to our academy in Broomfield, Colorado.
