Jubera BJJ Wins Grappling Industries

On Saturday, January 20th. Jubera Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu took home the 1st place team trophy for adults at Grappling Industries, Denver with our scrappy crew of about 9 competitors. In addition to the chest-sized team medal we brought home 5 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Golds came from Yuriy (double gold), Tyler, Kylene, and Beaver. Silver medals from Pete, Bobby, Sean. Bronze from Cole and Pete. We only had one kid competing Lincoln who showed some great takedowns and toughness out there taking home 2 silver medals. My black belt Todd’s academy won the Team Kid’s trophy so to close out adults and kids between our two academies is pretty special.

I thought the crew showed some great passing, chokes and x guard. Some recent changes in half guard passing were seen sooner than I expected. A few people battled through some tough spots like recently being sick or throwing up between matches. Kylene had 2 finishes from top pressure alone.

Congrats to all those that competed and laid it out there. Very proud of you, what a way to start the year. Also proud of their teammates back at the academy who give them tough rounds everyday. Thanks to those that helped coach as well. Have a great weekend and enjoy the day!
