Lovato 30th Anniversary

Lovato Jiu-Jitsu 30th Anniversary

I just got back from a 3 day trip to OKC to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Lovato’s School of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Straight from the flight it was rounds with Lovato Jr as he prepares to get ready for Master’s Worlds and a WNO championship match at the end of Sept. Friday we did more positional training as Victor Hugo, Xande Ribeiro, Felipe Costa, James Puopolo made it into town as we focused on open guard and back attacks. So many world champions, world championship medalists. Saturday was a lot of rounds and was one of the best training rooms I have been in as Yan Pica Pau and wrestling coach Nick Heflin joined the fun. There were more than 30 black belts training and it was fun to leave more blood and sweat on the mats. I think I went through 4 bottles of gatorade.

After the hard training it was time for celebration where a handful of us taught techniques to celebrate a the 30th anniversary of a great academy and family.

To finish off Lovato Jr was awarded his 5th degree by Xande Ribeiro.

It is always fun to share and learn so. To try out new techniques and see what works and what doesn’t against the best guys in the world.
