On Wed, October 22-25 I was invited to be the guest instructor at the Rafael Lovato Jr Association camp in Oklahoma City, Ok. This was a great opportunity to teach to about 30 of Lovato academy owners across the country, along with other visiting students. I taught No-Gi passing and answered questions with Day 1 focusing on outside passing and Day 2 focused on pressure passing.Â
In addition we were about 3 weeks out from Rafael Lovato Jr’s next match against 2x ADCC champion Giancarlo Bodoni so we were in full prep for that. Along with No-Gi world champion James Puopolo and NCAA finalist Nick Heflin we were getting him ready for the match ahead. I really like Giancarlo’s game so it is a pleasure to study. He is as well rounded as any grappler in the world and mixes pressure passing with a tremendous guard, can battle for leglocks or takedowns. They are competing at ONE FC in Tokyo and I will be cornering Rafael Lovato Jr for the match.
